The Thirteenth Tale

Happy International Womans Day! Which I had no idea about until maybe 10 minutes ago!

I enjoyed a very lazy day since I was able to leave school after finishing my biology test! Usually she asks us to come back after an hour or so so she can lecture for an hour and a half. This time we were all excited since it meant a 3.5 hour class would barely reach an hour!

I feel okay about my test, I had to take a few educated guesses but I think it went alright! We'll see Tuesday!

The blog is a little later tonight because I got sucked into a book! It's called the Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield.

You know if I got sucked into a book, it must be great! This WAS! Really you should check it out! Let me know if you read it!

Another pretty cool thing that happened to me was I got a cute little write up in the Westside Journal (A local paper where I grew up). They didn't add the picture Mount Mary had but that's okay :) The only problem I did have was that they put in the wrong information regarding the scholarship amount. It's 7500 not 5000 even thought that is a considerable amount, I feel like it should be corrected. I earned 25% more LOL!

I ate great today, I'm enjoying simple flavors! I made a Mama Pea inspired stir fry with a sauce of natural peanut butter, low sodium tamari sauce, lemon, garlic, ginger, and cilantro. It was MAGNIFICENT! The veggies were shredded brussels, carrots, jalapeno, and green beans. I added some chickpeas and peanuts on top. I wish I would have taken a picture, but Marc and Nana even ate it! She doesn't eat anything that isn't processed or sugar! I feel accomplished. The last few days I've had a few dishes from Mama Pea, and I just bought her book because I'm so IMPRESSED! Seriously, who thought vegan food could be so delicious?

Tomorrow marks grocery shopping and cleaning day! I'll leave you with my foods list and a burrito dog...

Foods List:
Fruit Salad
Banana
Chickpea Stir fry x2
Bite of a sugar cookie..OMG! One bite was enough!
Maybe bliss salad when I get home?

Have a good one!

I'm curious just exactly how that sugar cookie tasted? Like heaven, or like super sweet not so great anymore? :D

I read The Thirteenth Tale a few years ago and enjoyed it too. :)

It kind of tasted off, like I knew what I was tasting was sugar cookie but I couldn't help thinking POISON! lol! I think if I wasn't eating fruit (which is SO sweet in my mind right now) it would have been overly sweet. If this cookie would have had icing on it though, I would have died..sugar overload!!! I'm so glad you read The Thirteenth Tale! I was thinking of you when I wrote that part of the blog!

Havent heard of that book before.

I will have to look up that vegan cookbook. It sounds very interesting!

Crossing my fingers you did well on your biology test!!

Great job with eating well...minus the cookie but you only took one bite so I will forgive you. LOL

Congrats on the write up! I had to laugh because it reminded me of a little error made when I was in the paper. You know, when the Mr's hometown paper announced the engagement of him to my MOM! OY!

I *heart* burrito dog!!
