Yesterday's Eats

I read in a magazine recently that when life isn't normal, do normal things. This will help calm you and bring a sense of capability to handle what life throws at you. So what is more normal to me then food? I thought I'd share my first day back on plan, yesterday's eats. I have started trying recipes from the Eating Well website it's a good one... okay Eating Well where's my check? just joking!

Broccoli Frittata, Strawberries, Skim Milk, Black Iced Coffee

Air Popped Popcorn with Smoked Paprika, Roasted Red Pepper Sub (Kalamata Olives, Spinach, Dijon, Parmesan, Roasted Peppers, JalapeƱo, and Pea Sprouts... phew!), and delicious grapes.

Carrot Sticks with Black Bean Curry Dip

Skim Milk with Cinnamon and Vanilla

Sunflower Pesto Pasta, Smoked Sesame Carrots and Spinach with Sesame Ginger Dressing

and parm! Mmm

Yummy dessert, apple cinnamon muffin, strawberries and whip.

I had a couple HANGRY moments but I woke up this morning energized and ready to start the day. Now I'm taking an extended break from studying for finals. I'm ready to lose some of this weight this summer, and I think I have some pretty good tools to get it done.

Have a good day, enjoy time with your loved ones.

Bye Daddy

My Daddy passed away May 10th.

This is a picture on his wedding day, he was 40 here. He was 68 when he died.

We all thought he was doing really well and then he was gone. All I can really think about is how he wont hold my children, he wont see me graduate college..etc. I'm trying to go on the  "he will be there in spirit" jazz, but it doesn't really help.

I went to Florida for a couple days for his service, I got to see my sister and went to the beach. The warm waves were very comforting.

It's still not real yet, and life isn't the same. I'm trying to do better, and am just taking things minute by minute.

Hold on to your loved ones.

I miss you Dad.
