My Nose is on FIRE!

Today I made Mama Peas Red Lentil Enchiladas... (yeah I know, I'm milking the Mama Pea recipes but they are all SO good! I can't wait for the cookbook to arrive!).

In her recipe blog post she said that she touched her eye after cutting the jalapeƱo.I read this recipe so many times and reminded myself not to make the same mistake. Well, I didn't, but I did touch my nose. AM I THAT DUMB? All of a sudden the inner membranes in my nose were soooooo fired up! I breathed in and the fire went throughout my sinuses, and down my throat. It was so hot I started choking!

10 minutes later... Marc walked down the stairs from nana's house and sees me pouring a gallon of milk on my face. When I told him I burned myself he started LAUGHING so hard at me. It wasn't FUNNY, it's HURT! The milk didn't help as much as I wanted it to so I googled what to do in that kind of situation, to find that rubbing oil on the burn helps! It really did too! Oh man I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

The Enchilada recipe though is amazing!

I put black olives on my side, and the whole thing had about 1 cup of Daiya Cheddar Style Shards.
This is so good, I don't want to go back to regular cheese! The taste was incredible, and it melted so awesomely! Highly recommended product!

So with working until 1am, and the time change I didn't go to sleep until 4am this morning. Therefore, I am extremely exhausted and can't wait to go to sleep!

This weeks goals:
Keep workout appointments
Stay clean eating, 50% of diet all veggies
Get completely ready for Chemistry test Tuesday
Finish all Math homework

Also, I edited my music playlist to shuffle! I think it would be fun if you told me what song you landed on, and if you like it!

Wow...I think I'd avoid those enchiladas if there's anything in them that can make your nose react like that, haha! I'm an anti-spice kind of girl. Jason and our middle child really love spice, though. Ambrose puts wasabi and sriracha (sp) on everything!

I'm glad you found something that helped!!

The funny thing was that it wasn't even so spicy when I was eating it! When I diced the jalapeno I took out the seeds and ribs where the spices really are. I LOVE WASABI and that rooster sauce too! So yummy!

Yeah, I guess plastic gloves woldn't have helped to not spread the heat, but it might have been a good reminder for you not to touch anything on your body. Tony Bourdain from 'No reservations' on the Travel Channel always makes the joke about guys vuttng jalapenos and then not washing their hands BEFORE they go to the bathroom!!!! Imagine that!

Keep up the great work sister. And thank you so much for the adorable comments you leave on my blog. They make me so happy :) It's nice to know others are on the same healthy journey and we can do it together!!

Have a great week!

Yeouch! OMG that sucks! Those enchiladas looked amazing though. Being raised on latin food, seeing those makes me smile with good memories. Btw, I landed on CCR Bad Moon Rising which happens to be one of my favorite songs. ;)

Jalapeno burns are AWFUL, aren't they? I touched my cheek one time after cutting them, and my face felt like it was on fire for hours. Jerry was reading off home remedies online, and I tried them all, but NOTHING helped... until I finally made a paste out of baking soda and rubbed that on it. It worked like a charm.
