I Need Some Advice!

(This post has no pictures, but I need your advice! Please read!)

As I said on my last post, the spring semester is coming soon for me! Actually, in exactly a week. I'm nervous because this semester is nothing but science and math. HELP!

Anyway, I need advice on my workout schedule. This is my schedule for this semester (not including half hour commutes) :

Monday- School 10am-3pm, Work 5pm to 11pm
Tuesday- School 9am-3pm, Work 5pm to 11pm
Wednesday- School 10am-3pm, Work 5pm to 11pm
Thursday- School 9am-1pm, Work 5pm to 11pm
Friday- No School, No Work
Saturday- No School, No Work
Sunday- No School, Work 5pm to 11pm

So I'm wondering, when should I work out? I want to keep a pretty constant workout schedule. In an ideal world I want to workout Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. So I guess in order for that to work I should wake up earlier on Mon, and Wed to workout? I like hour long workouts so I would get to the gym at 7:30am, be done at 8:30 shower and change at the gym..leave at 9:15ish, arrive at school at 9:40ish and eat breakfast before class.

It sounds really hard though. I don't know if I could do it! Getting out of work at 11pm, means that I go to bed around midnight (I'd have to make myself go to bed, right now I go to bed around 1:30am). On the 'pros' side, I'd reach my goal faster, and I'll feel more focused and positive if I workout before class.

Another option is working out on less busy days, so that gives me Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I thought it was better to give yourself a day off in between workouts though? I can't forsee working out between work and school because I get home around 3:30pm, just to leave the house again at 4:30. I like that hour to kind of get out of school mode and into work mode.

So what do you guys think? If you were in my position, what would you do? Thanks loves!

it's hard to say..on one hand, you get used to less sleep the more you do it, but it still kind of sucks. On the other, using your days off makes more sense, but do you really want to waste parts of your days off doing that? i'm not sure...I think the early thing might be more ideal.

That's why I was thinking that maybe I should just get over it and work full steam on Mondays and Wednesdays? At least work for me isn't that bad, it's just getting out of the house to get to work that I hate LOL! I'm just afraid because I don't want to set myself up for failure! If I woke up at 7 and went to sleep at midnight that is still a healthy 7 hours sleep!

I think I'd do the early morning workout. It's a nice way to start the day (and get it done with). You're a busy girl!

Sarah- thank you for your advice, I think it's a smart decision, I think I just needed other people to tell me what they think and what they would do in my situation. I have a tendency to overdo things so I don't want to burn myself out! Maybe it'll be nice just to get it out of the way first thing!

I think you could maybe do an early morning workout one of the fuller days and then have at least one of the less full days to be able to relax. You could then rotate which fuller days you do each week if you didn't want to get in a rut. Just a thought!

I actually like early morning workouts. It is an awesome feeling to start your day like that. Plus, you get the workout out of the way and don't have to worry about that struggle between needing to work out and being really too tired. You could always try and get one work out in on a school day then go gangbusters on friday, saturday and sunday when you have time! Hope that helps!

I'm a morning person. I think if you work out in the morning it sets the tone for the entire day. You're focussed on your goals (you have a lot of them between school and weight-loss!) and you've gotten the day off on the right foot. Exercise always helps me eat better for some reason. I really don't know how you're doing all of that! What do you do for work? (I haven't read everything yet, so forgive me if you've mentioned it. I'll get there, though!)
