I DID IT!

When I was in high school I desperately wanted to run track because my dad did in high school. He was very good, and I wanted to be just like him. Unfortunately, I've never been that great of a runner, and sadly in high school I was as out of shape as I was when I was at my heaviest. In fact, I weighed about two hundred pounds when I graduated.

Here I am at my Senior Prom.

None of the prom dresses fit me, I had to buy one from the ladies plus section. I love this dress though, and hope to get it altered, it's, I believe, a size 18.

To get back on track here (no pun intended!) I would try to run a mile without luck. I felt so weak and out of breath, most runs I'd need to take walking breaks because of side stitches and I'd come home completely winded. COMPLETELY! This only lasted for about a month or so because it hurt so bad. I had no idea what I was doing, and I'd do it only at night so people wouldn't see me.

Today, I ran. I ran a 13 minute mile, without stopping to walk or catch my breath. I walked into the gym knowing that my goal was to run a mile without stopping, no matter how long it would take me. I thought about all the times I quit on myself, and all the times I made excuses. I did it!!! When I started losing weight I would run a mile and I couldn't do it! I'd run for maybe a block and then walk for a quarter mile. A mile would take me 28-32 minutes every time. I feel the progress!

After my run, and some bike time, it was time to go home and EAT! I was famished! We ended up having chicken tacos which were SO beyond good!

Here's my plate (I had the same thing for dinner).

I used whole wheat tortillas which were really good! Plus I used my own seasonings for the taco meat, and lowfat yogurt in place of sour cream. Marc couldn't taste any differences either! My favorite is the avocado :)

So overall, I had a really great day. I am still battling some U.G.L.Y feelings but it'll pass I just need to face it and not EAT IT! <3 <3

I am SO proud of you!!! That is wonderful!

Also, you looked beautiful for prom. I wore a size 20 for prom (down from a 22 that I was most of high school) so I guess the lack of choices. But it's good to know even at those sizes we was still hot beeotches! ;)

Dinner looked awesome. We're having Mexican for Saturday. I can remake Chi Chi's chicken El Paso and I'm going to give homemade tortillas a whirl. Wish me luck!

You looked good even at 200 pounds. Great job with the running! That's how it was for me when I started running. I could only run a minute at a time. Now I run about a 13 minute mile like you. Whole wheat! Good healthy choices...love it!
