Frankie.

I forgot to explain why I didn't blog on Thursday.

Thursday was very sad, and very shocking (this is hard to write about because I imagine what happened over and over again)

Around 5-6am that morning I remember Frankie purring up to Marc and Marc was petting him. Frankie out of nowhere attacked Marc's arm and in a sleepy/angered state he put the cat in the other part of the basement.

Around 7am in the morning we both woke up to a loud banging on the door connecting our part of the basement to where we go up the stairs to Nana's house. Marc yelled out, upset that sleep was disturbed (this wasn't the first time it had happened). He opened the door and pretty much screamed OH MY GOD!! In a very distressed voice, it scared me to death. I immediately thought Frankie got to her face, maybe even her eye (I have no idea how I thought of Frankie so quickly) I fell out of bed to see Nana in the doorway, crying and covered in blood.

Her arm was viciously torn up. She said that she picked him up, and he bit and scratched her. I called all of our relatives to figure out what to do, we knew that this wasn't life threatening, yet it was dangerous because cat bites can become infected very quickly if not treated correctly. I had to go to school, so Linda came and took Marc and Nana to the ER.

I fortunately got out of school early because it was just a review day for the final exam and no one had any questions. So I went to the hospital and stayed while they were taking care of her wounds. She didn't get stitches because this infection can get infected so it needs to stay open. She thankfully, liked the attention at the hospital and was tough!

The cat had to be taken to animal services and euthanized. It's sad because I know this cat could have been so loving and great but because it was treated badly before we took him in he was mean and semi-wild. I'll really miss Franek.

Nana is doing well we keep checking her cuts and everything seems okay.

Glad that day is over with though, it was terrible.

Schoolday highlights

Today is Tuesday which means....YOU GUESSED IT! school!!!

I started out with English and tried not to fall asleep, got home at 9:30am and totally crashed until noon. I didn't wanna get out of bed this morning boo hoo!

I had to get myself up though because my other class downtown starts at 1pm. I ate a pb&j and booked it downtown. IT WAS SO COLD!! I have to walk about 5 blocks to college so I was frozen icicles by the time I got to class.

After school let out I went to the library and picked out these books:

That last one might be hard to see but it is a polish book with audio cd's that help you learn Polish. I really need to learn it because today I was getting ready for work at about 4pm, I'm blow drying my hair and watching TV in my little after shower dress thing like this big:

(trust me i know I don't look like this LOL)

and I see Nana's head poke through the doorway! TALK ABOUT SCARE ME TO DEATH! She was talking to me in polish and I kept saying i don't understand, I don't understand, until she finally told me she was looking for Aspirin and had a headache. poor thing. I gave her some Motrin and put her in bed. She's lucky she didn't get an eyeful if you know what I mean.

Well anyway back to the sequence of events:

The library is located across the street from The Milwaukee Public Museum and they have a beautiful butterfly exhibit! I got to see the butterflies flutter around in their room!
I tried to take a picture but realized a little too late that my camera's SD card was in the laptop at home. Here's the butterfly wing!

I got home and was soo hungry so I made up a really yummy recipe! I also failed to take a picture of it :( because I left my camera in the car, and I was NOT going to go out and get it! COLD!

I named the recipe Bacon-y bok choy with sunny side egg

Are you grossed out? You shouldn't be it was sooo good!

3 slices chopped bacon
1 head of bok choy
1 clove of garlic, pressed or minced
1 egg

Cook the bacon until slightly starting to give off it's fat. Add all of the bok choy, stir continuously until the bacon is almost crisp and the bok choy has lost some of it's rawness. Add garlic and egg in the middle of the greens. cook until sunny side! Serve with greens around the egg. This would bee good with spinach, or swiss chard too! Eat your greens!

I also watched Dr. Phil's housewives (I'm so addicted to that show).

Now I am at work and watching the clock.. just an hour and a half left!

Goodnight!

Sleepy Stress

today was just full of stress and fueled by not enough sleep.

the Freakin' cat kept waking up and meowing. I feel bad for him :( he had really bad diarrhea today and I'm hoping that when I get home he is doing better. Look at how cute he is! Aww!

It was cold too. Nana's heater stopped working on Halloween so I made sure to cuddle up with my new electric blanket

and enjoyed our new space heater downstairs.

Nana was on a rampage today about the heat. First she is freezing and then she is breathing fire because it is too hot (when it was the same temperature as it had been) No she is not getting sick, she just saw the heater guy and wanted to complain about him being there. Sometimes its just really hard to deal with...

I hate it when she gets so ornery, very hard to deal with. She keeps going through all of our stuff downstairs haha! She found a notebook today and was like look what I have, you can use it if you like! That made me laugh, i was like oh, thank you Nana that is very sweet of you, I'll be sure to use it! Even when I'm slightly upset with her she makes me smile! I wanted to take
more pictures today but I forgot my camera at work ( so I used Alices, that I accidentally borrowed from Halloween, it snuck in my bag!) I barely ate today due to the stress of the heating issues and miscommunications with trying to get the heater fixed.

In other news, I have noticed my teeth are feeling better, I had cereal this morning, what a feat! I made black bean burgers for lunch but they tasted SO nasty, i just chucked them. usually i love thembut something was definitely off. I made pumpkin cake which was good, I substituted 1 cup applesauce for the 1 cup oil, and I put in a cup of brown sugar instead of reg. sugar for richer flavor :) It was pretty good, and moist. I had molasses on top for "icing" yum! I'll take a picture the next time I have some. For Dinner I had a Sobelmans grass fed burger...holy moly, that was good. I can tell that I have not had enough to drink today, I need to amp up the water.

I just keep telling myself, tomorrow is a new day. a bright shiny new day and life really isn't that bad we just have to reflect on the things that bother us, take a deep breath and exhale the negativity!

Tomorrow is a school/curves day. I am making a point of getting all of my stuff ready for school and the gym BEFORE I go to bed tonight. No excuses for not eating breakfast, no excuses for not bring gym clothes. I WILL NOT SABOTAGE MYSELF!

Have a Good Night!
