Confidence

I was reading Skinny Emmie's blog (If you don't know who she is, she's amazing and you should subscribe!) and she was talking about confidence today.

She asked us all to share what we are confident about and for a few minutes I really had to think about it. The whole time I was reading her blog I was thinking, "I'm a confident person", but when you really think about it, what are you confident about?

I sat and sat, and started to feel sad because I couldn't think of anything WHAT!

So now I am going to make a list of what I am confident about so I can really reflect and remember to love myself. How can we love others whole heartedly if can't love ourselves whole heartedly?!?

I Am Confident...

I am confident because I have a 4.0 GPA I am confident because I made the Dean's List last semester

I am confident because I am a good cook I am confident because I love to read for pleasure

I am confident because I try to be the person my pets think I am

I am confident because I don't give up!
I am confident because I put myself out there, even when I'm scared

I am confident because I have lost 75 pounds

I am confident because I know I'll be at my goal weight by May 1 (my b-day)

I am confident because I have loving support, from family, and from you!

Why are you confident, I really recommend this exercise it's helped me reflect on an issue I didn't even know I had! As Skinny Emmie says, "Confidence is not narcissism".

School Day

So Tuesdays and Thursdays I go to college, to get more knowledge..SORRY...ahem....

I go to school and stay from 10-3, and between my classes I have an hour break to go work out in the gym! It's so nice to get a good sweat on and clear my mind in between classes. Usually I can only burn about 175 calories before having to go and take a shower, eat lunch, and get to my second class. Today I was able to burn 311 calories in that time frame, YAY! It's all thanks to this baby
I feel so good about it and it's funny how awesome it feels. It really makes me want to look into going to a gym, but I really could go on Mondays and Wednesdays as well. They have open gym for an hour, so I guess I could do that. Maybe I will?!?

So after my favorite time of my school day I have to go to Algebra class. eck.

I usually just stare out the window. That church is cool! Plus right behind it is the old Pabst brewery, look to the right...

While in class, my teacher has this really interesting way of explaining math. He says what he is doing is creating neural pathways?! He makes you write down EVERYTHING he writes on the board and then tells little stories that don't exactly make sense with the things we are learning. I wrote down every story that he told today to see how many different topics he got on to and it was a pretty interesting list:

Poppers Pie's
Can't mess with Wisconsin Beer, or food
Pillsbury dough cans
Lymes Disease
Flu Shot
Car Axles
St. Louis MO
Car Tickets
Speeding to Chicago
Lifting Weights
Living in a Dorm
Fighting with Significant Other
Elderly Parents
Diabetes
12 dollar Drill
Buying a Car
Messing with Salesman
Cold Weather

I actually think it is a great tactic to get us all to keep listening to him, because in between each story he does a few math examples, which we have to write down.

One of the problems we worked on today was y=kx, y=k/x, D=RT, etc.

So far that's been my day. I got home from school had some lunch and went to work. I feel like I got rid of a lot of clutter in my house and that really helped my stress levels. Marc and I finally got an agreement together and wrote down which household chore was whose. I have to do Cooking, Grocery Shopping, Laundry, Bed Making, and Vacuuming. Marc has to do Dishes & Counters, Bathrooms, Dusting, Taking out the trash, and the majority of grass cutting/shoveling (depending on the season). I think that's a pretty fair agreement, but man oh man I hope it works because this was a bad argument last night. It was so stupid because it was about a dirty stove top! OMG!

What's a stupid fight topic you've been in with your Significant Other, or family member? How do the chores get divvied up in your family?

Please make sure that you have entered the contest for the $50 gift! You have exactly one week left! If you like my blog, feel free to give others a chance to enter (and yourself another entry) by telling your friends on a social medium, like fb! I love my subbies!!

ShayTards

I wanted to take this moment to bring you a family that seriously makes me smile everyday. I'm a serious ShayTard fan and have shamelessly been watching them since 2009! They make a video everyday on Youtube about there daily life of raising 4 kids (when I started it was 3 lol) and creating a beautiful life! I seriously look up to them as positive role models and I really want to be just like Katilette when I have kids. She is so gentle and caring, and extremely true to herself. So here's to role models and creating your life as how YOU want it to be! Marc actually just got a bumper sticker in the mail today that says "What you think, you become" -Buddha. I love it!

Here's todays vlog:

and here is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE vlog of all time!:

Have you ever heard about the Shaytards? Do you watch Youtube? If so, what is your favorite channel?

Eyes Wide Open

This post was for last night but my home computer was fighting with Blogger. So now it's today's post :)

Why do dogs sleep with their eyes open sometimes? It freaks me out. Sorry it's blurry but Beanka woke up right after this so I couldn't take another one. I think you can still see her eyes half open though! I swear she was out cold!

Can we also touch on the fact that this dog should have been named Queen Sheba?! Seriously, Beanka is a Diva.

I finished organizing the closet after a major setback. I got all the winter clothes out of the attic only to realize they were kinda of stale. After like 4 loads of wash I was THANKFULLY done. Look at this fancy shirt drawer. I think I wear a lot of shirts, don't you think!

Long Sleeves, sweaters, dresses, and coats.

I even organized my gloves and hats and scarves, winter is approaching faster than I'd like. Better get prepared early.
Sweets for my sweet. This was a mug vanilla cake recipe that I googled plus a easy raspberry sauce. (put forzen raspberries in the microwave, heat through...done teehee)

I'm waiting for him to get home now, only 45 more minutes. Usually I'm exhausted by the time he gets home on Saturday shifts, He works 11pm to 2am on Saturdays. I've kept myself occupied today though.

Look at my socks! I'm starting to think I have a foot fetish or something, always showing you guys my tootsies :)

I'm off to start reading My Lobotomy by Howard Dully and Charles Fleming. I think it'll be the perfect read for this spooky time of year!

Also, I've been listening to Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand, it's so GOOD! Must read/hear haha!
Off to start on my Thesis paper for African American History. I'm EXHAUSTED...I'm doing this at work right now...not good

Logistical Problems

I need help guys, I'm not losing weight. What am I doing wrong?

Here's the math.

1 pound = 3500 calories

Based on my Basal Metabolic Rate I can consume 1,595 calories without gaining, or losing weight.

I eat on average 1345 calories daily

I'm on track to burn 1750 calories per week at least

This gives a caloric deficit of 3500 calories.

For workouts I'm doing cardio (treadmill, walks, jogs, spinning, elliptical)

I did not lose weight. Math and all, I did not lose weight. I'm mad because I thought that was the whole idea. Granted I still have until Sunday to get my official weigh in but I'm sad.

I still fit into my clothes, and haven't felt bloated at all but I guess I'm just frustrated. The scale shouldn't be everything, but can't it be something? (especially since I took a walk yesterday burning 525 calories).

Plus I'm already upset because logistically I might only be able to lose a pound a week, but I want to lose more FASTER! Cutting more calories might screw with my metabolism and I don't know if I should work out more with that few of calories.

Maybe I should just keep going and see what happens? I might not have given this new approach a chance. I've only started really calculating like this last Sunday. I'm working out A LOT more than I usually do.

HELP.

This Feeling...

"It was a chocolate mousse, with chocolate drizzle and berries and cream. I ate that too. Never in my life have I been able to understand what people mean when they say “Oh, I can only have a few bites, it’s just so rich.” Not until now. Now I understand how you can completely give yourself over to a moment of indulgence, savor it, and then leave it behind.

There is an invaluable freedom in having a few small bites of velvety chocolate, licking your lips, and then leaning back in your seat and looking down at a nearly flat stomach. So much better than blocking out the world, scarfing every last bite, and then shifting around uncomfortably and trying to hide a multitude of rolls underneath a dowdy black garment." Elle- PriorFatGirl

Seriously this is amazing to me. I feel like Elle has read my mind. Every time I read her blog I feel as if one day I will be where she is right now. If you are ever looking for some encouragement click on her blog, I am grateful to have found her after every post!

Elle puts things in words that I have been wanting to say, or needing to hear, in a way I never could express.
