It's getting really close to Father's Day, my first without my Dad.
My Dad and I dancing on my wedding day...
The only thing that I think is going to get me through the day is making my family an apple pie. For as long as I can remember, my Dad always got a homemade apple pie to celebrate him. Whether it be his birthday, a congratulatory meal, or Father's day... it's that apple pie! So without further ado I need an apple pie recipe and I need you help to find the best one!
Please send me your favorite recipe and I'm going to make it, even if the apples a fifty dollars a piece and out of season.
Thanks friends!

I don't have any good recipes, but I can help! I can buy apples!
I'm not a pie maker, but I wish you luck finding the best recipe! No family recipe around?
I wish I had a link for you but I'm not a fan of apple pie and have therefore never made it. I know Spark had an interesting recipe for handheld individual apple pies on their Recipes site? *hugs*
This is the one I make:
Apple Crumb Pie
Total Time: 50 minutes
Ingredients:
•9-inch pastry shell, unbaked, chilled
•1 cup sifted flour
•1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
•1/8 teaspoon salt
•1/2 cup soft butter
•6 cups peeled, sliced granny smith apples
•1/2 cup granulated sugar
• 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
•vanilla ice cream
Preparation:
Combine flour, brown sugar, salt, and butter; blend until crumbly then set aside.
Combine apples, granulated sugar, and cinnamon; mix gently to coat apple slices.
Pack apple mixture into chilled crust. Sprinkle crumb topping over apples.
Bake in 375° oven until apples are tender, about 50 minutes.
Serve this apple pie with vanilla ice cream.
Enjoy it in memory of your sweet dad.
